Set-up
in 1967, the INSTITUTE FOR SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH TECHNOLOGICAL
ENGINEERING AND PROJECTS FOR LIGNITE MINING,
I. C. S. I. T. P. M. L. S. A.
Craiova, became in few years the unique Institute specialized in Romania
for works concerning extraction of lignite and brown coals both by open
pit and underground mines. Independently of organizational forms
and the administrative subordination registered, the Institute preserved
the profile of activity, gaining a large experience.
In
31 years of activity, the Institute assured technical and economical documentation
for development of the lignite extraction in Romania, that, as is presenting
today by:

capacity
levels of production;
-
technical
endowment and organization;
-
economical
efficiency levels,
includes
creative efforts of specialists from SC ICSITPML SA Craiova.
It
can certainly assert that today the Institute is the unique in Romania
and among a few from the world who dispose of accumulated experience both
in underground extraction in conditions with high difficulty levels and
in open pit mining in hilly zones with naturally reduced stability.
From
1993, december, ICSITPML SA Craiova, became corporation, the two stockholders
being State Property Fund (70% from Stocks) and Private Property Fund (30%
from Stocks).
Material
base of Institute is formed by the following main components:

a land
surface of 4318 sq.m. on which is located the main building and the annexes.
This surface and the buildings and, equally, the equipments belong to the
Institute;

main
building with basement, ground floor and five floors, suitable equipped
for 650 employees;
-
geotehnical
laboratory, suitable equipped;
-
2 geotehnical
drilling installations for in field workings;
-
computing
office equipped with a computing network provided with 26 computers and
annexes (plotters, scanners, printers, etc.)
-
laboratory
testing stand for longwall supports;
-
mobile
equipment for field measurements and researches;
-
mobile
installation for field investigations regarding professional lung illnesses;
-
topographic
and terrestrial - photogrammetric devices;
-
cars
and trucks for personnel and devices transport.
The Institute
has his own archives, containing the following categories of documents:
-
techical,
economical and legislative documentations concerning setting - up and time
evolution of extracting enterprises;
-
complete
geologic documentations concerning lignite and brown coals reserves;
-
topographic
- geodezic basis (including time evolution) for all mining fields from
Romania;
The activity
of ICSITPML SA Craiova is concentrated mainly on the following concerns;
-
complex
elaboration of technical documentations for works afferents to coalfields
and industrial equipements necessaries;
-
elaboration
of techinical documentations for technological equipments and prototypes
of mining equipments;
-
studies,
researches, experiments for improvement of exploitation methodes and of
equipment suitable for young age coals located in soft or weak consolidated
rocks.
Joining
in the same Institute the activities of research, engineering and development
are created premises for fast applications of results from research in
development and later on in production.
