SCIENTIFIC ACTIVITY & TECHNICAL EXPERTISE CONDUCTED MAINLY
IN THE CENTRAL LABORATORY OF ELECTROPUTERE PLANT, CRAIOVA
Main research topics concern :
-testing method for high power transformers with 3 windings of dofferent
power (Pattent No. 42705 registered at the Romanian Office for Pattents "OSI")
as an original test, to the first of this kind in the world;
-method for stable compensated loading of high power synchronous engines
("OSI"- Pattent No. 46606);
-participation to the final set up of installations for and to the
complet tests under loading of electric generators and electromotors meant
for the Romanian made electric diesel locomotives of 2100HP and 4000HP
respectively.
THEORETIC, BASIC RESEARCH CONTINUOUSLY CONDUCTED ALONG THE ENTIRE
PERIOD OF ACTIVITY REGARDING ELECTRIC MACHINES AND DRIVES
The tackled subjects concern :
-detailed analysis of transytory processes considering the variable
parameters and establishing developed mathematical models for electric
machines;
-optimizing behaviour of electric machines and drives;
-rapid automated control of a.c. machines.
The results of the research are materialized in 108 scientific papers
among which 61 papers are published in scientific journals and 6 books
(one into English), 3 pattents, 19 scientific papers written at the request
of industrial companies or presented at scientific meetings, 25 research
reports (contracts).
The book "Electric Machines, Basic, special and optimal operation problems"
Ed. Scrisul Romanesc 1988, 602 pages is a monographic study including a high
number of the author's research, some newly presented in the Romanian technical
literature.
Author of various paper published in prestigious journals such as :
"Archiv fur Electrotechnik" (Springer Verlag, Berlin, Germany), "Revue
Roumaine des Sciences Techniques" - Serie Electrotechnique et Energetique
edited by the Romanian Academy, the "PEMC 1994" - Warshaw Conference
Volume etc.
PRIZES, AWARDS, MEMBERSHIP, PARTICIPATION TO SCIENTIFIC MEETINGS
"Traian Vuia" Prize of Romanian Academy, edition 1988 awarded for the book
"Electric Machines. Basic special and optimal operation problems" appreciated and reviewed
by Prof. Dr. R. Magureanu Dipl. Eng. in "Revue Roumaine de Sciences
Techniques".
Participation as a Delegation Head at CEI Congresses 1991, Madrid, Spain
and 1993 Toronto, Canada. The Madrid paper was highly appreciated and
disseminated as an official final document of the Congress.
Permanent membership in the International Commission of CEI Technical
Committee No. 2.
Founding member of the Commission for "Drives and Automation" of the Roumanian
Academy.
Member of the Internationa Committee for "INCEMAD 1986" and "ICED 1988"

papers (i. e. regarding advanced countries) bringing also its own contribution
such as to present a unitary work of a high scientific level adjusted to the
actual state of the art".
