| This additional external electronic countermeasures pod system is used for extra protection from enemy surface-to-air missile or anti-aircraft artillery radar. In addition to the F-14s inbuilt devices, the additional Expanded Chaff Adapter for extra chaffs and flares and the AN/ALQ-167 ECM pod are used on high-threat mission over enemy territory. |
