| Usually, Zuni rockets are not the weapon for an air-superiority fighter like the F-14. It's more a rocket for air-to-ground attacks and close-in support strikes. Nevertheless, the Tomcat was tested with this weapon (see photos at bottom of this page). May be this was the first and the last time that Zuni rockets were delivered by an F-14. The below right photo shows the Zuni Rocket Pod (all white) installed on the 1996 VF-101 F-14B showbird. |
