Great to see a site from my long ago history. I was in VF-32 AQ shop from summer 76 til 78. Worked 'O' level on flight deck. Got to transfer to 'I' level and worked in shop on JFK and at Oceana til discharge in '80. Would be interested in hearing from some of the folks from then.

Darrel W. Wilkerson Sr.

I was a member of VF-32 in 1962-63. The squadron was then at Cecil Field and the USS Saratoga. At Cecil, I was in the 1st Lt's division and TAD all over the place. On the Saratoga, I worked in the ready room. I was in the squadron when it deployed for the Cuban Missle Crisis and was on the Med Cruise that our Commanding Officer, CDR Clayton crashed and died. He was a great commanding officer. VF-32 was the best outfit in which I've ever worked; it was family

David L. Edmondson

Back on Sept. 16, 1956 I was assigned to VF32, Straight from boot camp, Great Lakes Was Stationed At Cecil Field, FL Keg 3 Made a Med. cruise on board of the Saratoga, Jan. 58 to June 58 when I was sent back to the States for discharge. When I arrived at Cecil Field, VF-32 had Cougars. That next January the got the Crusaders with the J57 engine. One of Navy's first supersonic jets. I loved my experience in the service, and have fond memories. I worked in the Admin. office and later was transferred to Aviation Supply. Somewhere I still have my patch of VF-32. End of this story... Any update of the history of VF-32 would be of interest. David L. Edmondson, USNR-R 965-71-18

Great site! Brian Douglass of your unit is the son of our friends in Washington State who informed us of this site. You might be interested to know that one of your F-14's was provided to the Tillamook Naval Air Station in Tillamook, Oregon. Go to www.tillamookair.com to see your former plane. This is a great facility, and is considered one of the largest private collections in the Country. I hope some of you were able to see the Battleship New Jersey when it came through your area. This ship was formally at Bremerton, WA in the moth-ball fleet. People can follow the last journey of the New Jersey by going to www.battleship-newjersey.com. With Veterans Day approaching, the best to all of you from a former Air Force vet.
