I hope to join the United States Marine Corp in the summer of 2001. My dreams are to become a F-18 Hornet fighter pilot. The marines seem to have the better options of all the armed forces. Wish me luck and remember that all your dreams are reachable if you want them bad enouh.... THANK YOU FOR THE WONDERFUL WEB PAGE...

Does anyone have ANY information on the "Flanker" scheme applied to F-14A BuNo 159855 at NFWS/Topgun in 1991 as "Red 31"? This same a/c is currently in the blue/gray "splinter flanker" scheme at NSAWC, but I mean the ORIGINAL "Flanker" with the dark radome. I only know of one photo of this scheme; any photos anyone may have would be CAREFULLY copied and returned, but any information, no matter how small, would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Bye. See you soon.

Congratulations on a great website! I'm a writer; my WWII airwar novel, The Triumph and the Glory, was just published in March, but my next book will be about the Desert Storm air campaign, and the main character is an F-14 pilot, so I thought I'd check out your page. I would like to thank you for doing such a great job on your website. I will be doing a lot of research in the next few months and sites like this one are great sources of accurate information. Your site has moved to the top of my favorites list. Keep up the good work!

An addition for your peacetime shoot down page: In 1996, during RimPac exercises, a Japanese ship, a destroyer, I think, was taking target practice with an Intruder (a-6) from VA-115 towing it. The ship's crew shot the A-6 down by putting rounds through the starboard wing. The crew ejected safely and were rescued by thelicopters from HS-14, aboard the USS Independence.

F-14 TOMCATS ARE BY FAR THE MOST AWSOME CARRIER BASED AIRCRAFT EVER MADE. I SPENT 1 YEAR ON THE USS KITTY HAWK WITH OUR SQUADRON VF-1 BACK IN 1984. I CAN'T COUNT THE TIMES I HAVE ENDED UP ON THE DECK OF THAT CARRIER DURING MY SLEEP IT IS STILL THE MOST THRILLING TIME IN MY LIFE. GOD BLESS THE LATE VF-1 AND HER TOMCATS

Hi ! I'm crazy about aircraft, mostly the high tech jet aircraft of the USA. I work as a design draughtsman and enjoy drawing aircraft, when i get the time. I'm actually looking for some well detailled line drawings in order to create a 3D model of the F14 Tomcat. I would really appreciate it if you knew where i could get some info like this. Finally I must say that this is a very informative site and i encourage you to keep up the good work. Thanks Craig.
