Dr. Vladimir Rasvan (IEEE Member '93, IEEE Senior Member '95 ) born in 1945, graduated from Technical University " Politechnica " of
Bucharest, School of Automatic Control in 1967 (MEng. in Electrical Engineering with major in Control) and
obtained the Doctoral Degree (Dr. Sci.) in 1972 from the same University.
After 10 years of applied research in thermal process control, he joined the Staff of Craiova University as
Associated Professor, in 1982.
Since 1990 he is Profesor and Dean of the School of Automation, Computers and Electronics (since its
foundation in 1990). He is the autor of some 55 papers, 50 research raports and conferences and of 3 books on
Stability and Control, recipient of the Romanian Academy Award, Member of the "Editorial Board of Revue Romanie des
Sciences Techniques - Serie Electrotechnique et Energetique" published by the Romanian Academy.
His main interests are concerned with dynamical systems, stability, nonlinear oscilations, control of time lag and distributed systems. One of the organizers of IEEE Craiova branch.
