Mig-29 "Fulcrum"

In the cockpit

Cockpit
The cockpit of the Mig-29 retains some degree of commonality with the cockpits of the Mig-21 and Mig-23. Similar in some ways to the cockpit of aircraft like the F-14 Tomcat and F-15 Eagle, the Mig-29 has conventional instruments and weapons control panels, and does not make use of TV-type CRT's and up-fronts controls that characterise Western fighters of the same vintage. While essentials controls are mounted on the stick and throttles, it is not a truly HOTAS cockpit, since weapon selection and arming and many other routine operations would require the pilot to move his hands elsewhere in the cockpit. All Mig-29s have a similar cockpit layout , though radar control and some weapons panels differ in details between the aircraft used by different customers.
