Hi Neville - hows tricks ? I still feel that more full magasine content (from older isues of course) would be appropriate, in order that one can get a much better feel about exactly what one is subscribing to. I know you said this was planned - did I miss it? (N.B. : this site is extremely slow from the UK useing either CSi or Demon's net). Otherwise it's shaping up v.nicely Best, Chris P.S. : Given the claims to be a 'trade' publication what would be useful would be some sort of Added Value to encourage visitors (as found on all major trade sites e.g. Mil Parade, JED et.c) - some sort of directory perhaps and/or free trial advertising for trade.

Great graphics and photos. I spent 22 years in Army Aviation and retired as a LTC Army Aviator and Engineer. I have always had a deep interest in military aviation. As a LT I flew chinooks in Vietnam as well as Hueys. Commanded three aviation units and two engineer units. Two of the aviation units were organic to larger engineer units. It was a great career and too much fun for the ground pounders to really understand. Mike

Great Homepage, with a lot of good information available. The initial homepage is a bit cluttered (might reduce all the graphics on the side), which causes it to take a while to download, even with a T-1 connection to the Internet. Nonetheless - you've got a winner!

When I was in Sydney in July I picked up an issue of Air Force Today at the airport. It was really great and is the only aviation magazine I have encountered that covers a variety of interesting topics concerning various aviation spectacles around the world. And, the fact that it's Australian makes it the finest quality. You're doing a splendid job and keep up the great work. Cheers, Andrew James McLean

My father-Captain John S. Seeley-was killed on 6-27-66. He was the first pilot casualty of the 178th 'Boxcars' based at Phu Loi, RVN. I was 5 when my father gave his life for his country, but my love for him will never die. If you knew or served with "Big John" during his 1952-1966 U.S. Army career please e-mail me. Mr. Dawson asked I stop in for a visit to this site. I worked at the Grand Canyon, Arizona in the 80's on a cafeteria line. People from all over the world would come throgh and the Aussies were-by far-the friendliest....many Aussies gave their lives in Nam as well and have the same place of honor my father does. Happy New Year to the people from the land "down under."

I just picked up a copy at the Ft. Monroe PX. Excellent publication. I'm a retired Marine aviator with most of my time in the fighter business, and most of that as "the bogey." I've had a few pieces in AirForces Montly and some photos in Koku-Fan. I'm presently working on some variations on the US Navy's transition from the aging F-14 to the Hornet jet. I was wondering if you'd be interested in looking at something along those lines, or if there was something else in the Navy Aviation area you're after. I'd be glad to hear from you.

I would like to ask if you could, if possible , send me any pictures on the cam schemes used by the IAF as i'm building an F-4 and an F15 models and wish to do them in IAF colours. Hi,I have a good idea that the magazine editors may consider publishing. Why not add something a bit different compared to most other Air Force magazines. Why not add a small section, about one or two pages, containing new developements in aircraft and weapons. For instance, write half a page on the F-22 and a page on lets say the AMRAAM, or a new PAVWAY version laser guided bomb. Anyway, you know what I mean. I just think it would keep us even more up to date on airforce technology. Thanks... James.
Wed Nov 26 11:55:30 1997 , dirvine@tpgi.com.au
Air Force Today is a great magazine. I have an idea however that you should consider that may add a little something special. It would be a good idea if you added a small segment at the end of each issue with the "stats" of a new aircraft AND weapon. For e.g, a picture of a YF-22 and maybe a few stats and a small amount of writing on it. Then on the next page or so write a small segment on lets say the AMRAAM. It would help us keep not only up to date in the aircraft world but the weapon world as well. Anyhow its just an idea and it would be great for you to write me back. Thanks for your time... James.

Thankyou for such an excellent magazine. I have purchased every copy on a reserve list at my local newsagent. I only have one dissapointment and that is! The magazine started about the RAAF and has now gone global and does not report on major events in the RAAF. By this I know of a person who is not a PILOT but recieved an award of the year which was the inuagral one this year, he also was NCO of the year at a joint defence force network but it is not news enough. What happened to the reporting on the people who work behind the pilots and planes and keep them in the air. Please I like this mag but remember it takes more than just pilots to fly... Thankyou

Picked up my first copy the other day (Vol 2 No 1), two F/A 18s going vertical is bound to attract anyone! Loved the mag, sent for all back issues and a subs. I did the first Australian Army Aircraft Handler's course at Amberley in '71, we were flying Cessnas and those bubble-fronted chopper thingys in those days, plus Pilatus Porters (wot a hoot!), saw some great F-4 flying while I was there while we were waiting for the F-111s to arrive. Do a lot of desktop flying with my old computer, US Navy Fightes, F-22, Longbow, and Advanced Tactical Fighters - all good stuff. Send me an email and say Hi! if any of this makes sense.

I really like your stuff on the F-22. None of the crapy civilon crap. Mabe you could print more mags a year! Before I started to get it I wasn't sure I wanted to because I couldn't read any of it !!! Maybe you should let people read a little more, or read the past issues! You may want to be a bit more technical too!

There is a real need for a regular & fairly frequent mag' devoted exclusively to military aviation but which is more than a glossy 'comic' with pretty pictures. Unfortunately I could find nothing here to tell me whether this is it or not. IMHO what is needed is the full text of a selection of articles from past isues so that one can judge the technical depth, quality, and editorial philosophy of the coverage *before* parting with folding money[g]- after all it doesn't seem to hurt the likes of 'Flug Revue' or AF Herald or Mil Parade et.c There are some excellent pics - but I'd expect nothing less with neville (dawson) as associate editor. BTW some sort of search facility would be useful in that gallery. Some interesting links too. Please let's have some more substance guys.

"Airforce today" is the best, most up to date, informative aviation magazine I've seen. The magazines are loaded with bright, colourful pictures, and have very interesting articles packed with info. I've only got magazines No.3 and No.4, and they are very impressive. I hope there are better things to come, because "Airforce today" is the only aviation magazine I enjoy reading. P.S. I like the improvement on the web page. It looks great!

Thanks for the heads up. I will be keeping in touch with you as time goes on. We are about to launch a new business called "Synthetic Environment Engineering" in the New England area. This business will be making headlines in the near future because we plan to manufacture the world's most advance and unique aircrew traing device. SCI, EDS, and several other supre companies are part of this effort. Perhaps you are aware of the fact the Pentagon now has a division devoted solely to the new technology on simulation and robotics. We hope to train the pilots for the next generation of aircraft around the world.
