Just found your site and it looks wonderfully interesting. Trying to find a U.S. WWII floatplane much like the OS2U Kingfisher but with a rather solid looking singel support of the main (fuselage) float. The plane appeared in a Perter O'Toole movie (name unremembered) in whcih he attempts to sink a U-boat in some S. American estuary. Plane had RAF rondells. Anyway, back to your site....

I am long time builder of plastic models of operational WW II aircraft and try to identify each model by matching decals with actual units, location and time, e.g 1941, 1942, ... So far have completed over 150 from all of the major belligents in 1/72, 1/48 and 1/32 scale. My current problem is trying to track down actual units for an Italian Cant Z 501 and a Soviet Yak-6. My library does not provide any clues, and the kit instructions are in Russian. I can handle the French, German or Italian, and have some help from Japanese clients with Japanese. Do you have any suggestions?

Hi there. I am a WWII fanatic, especially it's aircraft of that time. I am 27 yrs.old I was a U.S. Marine aircrewman on CH-53 Sea Stallions for 5 years. I know it sounds bad but the whole time I prayed for a big war. I know it isnt romantic like Hollywood portrays it to be, I seen the bad side of it in Desert Storm,Somalia, and Bosnia when I was over in those places. I still think I was born in the wrong time. I have always wanted to go back in time and fly Corsairs with Pappy Boyington. I think it's great that you have a web site for WarBirds.

Hello! My name is Bill Todd, and I've sent messages before. I have two questions for you: Q1) I'd previously dropped you an E-mail regarding a shootdown of an EC-130E over Estonia, and referenced in the book "Puzzle Palace" about a US Intelligence Agency. I have not found my book, and I can't locate one. Did you ever find out anything about it? Q2) I linked my site to yours re: shootdowns. I am very interested in the T-6 aircraft, and am looking for oddities. (Speaking of one-- did you know that a T-6 was involved in a UFO encounter?) I asked the USAF about a little known model of T-6, the RLT-6G, 4 of which were given to the Iranian AF. They had nothing on the model, or the shootdown of the T-6 over the Korean DMZ on 17 August 1955 as reported by you. Can you give me hard documentation or a database, site or any other data to confirm? That they have no report of a T-6 being shot down doesn't surprise me. They probably do, but are not releasing any data. Many thanks if you can steer me to the T-6 documentation source. I just finished a book on T-6's and I did mention the fact in that context. I just want to keep the facts straight. I'm absolutely not saying you are incorrect. I am asking for source docs. I will keep looking for the EC-130 data. Regards & Happy Holidays, Bill Todd

I'm looking for information about a single engine aircraft that was produced during WWII. The aircraft was made of rubber and inflated when needed. It had a small engine mounted on top of the plane behind the pilot. I saw this aircraft on the discovery channel but did not see the name of it.

My father flew us around in a "G-Model" Stag-a-wing. With Father's Day coming up -I need to know if there is any chance at finding a model of this plane. If not, Please let me know if ther is any chance at locating NC80315 '46 beechcraft, that he sold when he left the flying life (post Navy) that he had. Please help me. Thanks, Joanne
