Back to photoset 9! An interview with Slammer!
May 12, 1999, aboard the  USS Theodore Roosevelt. NBC's "Today Show" conducts the first live broadcast aboard a U.S. Navy aircraft carrier at sea. "Today Show" host Matt Lauer interviews VF-14  Executive Officer Cmdr. Samuel  B. "Slammer" Richardson in the  USS Theodore Roosevelt hangar bay. Slammer had previously taken Matt for the ride of his life in an F-14 Tomcat.
