F-14 Accident & Crash Reports![]() ![]() The photo to the right shows BuNo 159588 after its wreckage was recovered. On 14.09.1976 the VF-32 F-14A was lost when it inadvertently taxied off USS John F. Kennedy while operating in the North Sea off Scotland. The problem was that it carried not only its advanced electronics, but also brand new AIM-54 Phoenix missiles. Therefore the wreckage plus missiles were recovered so that it all could not fall into the wrong hands. Photo: US Navy Accidents & Crashes listed by date: Accidents & Crashes listed by BuNo: |
