October 03rd 1999

First of all, we must thank you form all our hearts for the support you show by constantly posting your messages to our Guestbook. Please know that these messages are posted in our Ready Room for everyone in the squadron to read them and they are truly a BIG boost to morale!

we changed the Memorabilia Ordering process. You can now see what's on offer, read how to order, then complete the order form and send it by mail together with your payment. Many thanks to all those who have ordered before!

this update also reflects the Change of Command tha occured on November the 6th 1998 - CDR Ted "Slapshot" Carter is now the new CO of Fighting Fourteen with CDR Samuel "Slammer" Richardson as the new XO. We updated accordingly the Command Section as well as the Former CO's, Roster, Newsletter and History files. Also updated Slapshot's roster entry link.

quite a long time since the last update, and it's not like things haven't been happening ... well' we're back with more news and this rather looks like a BIG update ...
brought the Squadron Roster up to date
also modified the Maintenace Department, Operations Department and Safety Department pages under the Command Section to update the info therein
finnaly added the Administration & Personnel Page
updated the Command History page under the Squadron History section
updated the Alumni Pages links and info
small (but nevertheless important) update to the VF-14 Awards page
added a few pictures to the Visitor's Corner - check out photo file 03.
added Grumman F-14A Tomcat system locator top view drawing and 3 view drawing to the F-14 drawings and schematics page under our F-14 Section
added new info to the "Tophatter" Newsletter - check the new Summary for more on the Admiral Joseph C. Clifton Award, the Arleigh Burke Fleet Trophy, the El Centro detachment, sports news, the 79th Tophatters' Anniversary and the Year of the Lid.

added stuff to the F-14 Section - this has already been long due - now it features a couple of official F-14 Tomcat data sheets, a description of today's Grumman F-14A Tomcat, a collection of Tomcat drawings and schematics and, naturally, a Tomcat links page. For pictures you will have to refer to our VF-14 Photos Section.
added a couple of pics to the Visitor's Corner - that is photo file 03 to be more specific.

so, we've crossed the one year in existence line with this web site. Many thanks to all of you who have spent some time here!
added stuff to the Alumni Pages under the Squadron History Section - there is an Alumni Photos section and Page 1 is now online. Added a cross-reference to the Photos section under the Multimedia Showcase.
changed the Maintenace Dept. page under the Command Section to account for Miguel's replacement
minor changes to the Newsletter - mainly the change of ship section.

April 29th 1998

changed VF-14 e-mail contact address to TopLids@aol.com - Kelly is now in charge with keeping this site up to date. Time to give a lot of thanks to Miguel for all his efforts in setting up and providing material for the pages and wish him the best of luck.
VF-14 and CVW-8 changed ship to U.S.S. Theodore Roosevelt (CVN-71) - we changed the Squadron ID and Command History pages to reflect this. There's also a Newsletter note on this change of ship and a links page update.
had to split the guestbook file - it was getting too big to download confortably in one piece - by the way, thanks for signing in, we now get to our third guestbook file (you can click here to access files 1, 2 and 3).
changed welcome page main picture link to the Site Directory page - hope this way people will get around more easily since the site has grown up a bit - around 150 html files already!
